Actually, the ISBN number is the same -- it just that one of them is written in the old digit format and one in the new digit format a prefix of is added in front of older numbers. The last digit is different because it's a "check-sum digit" that calculates differently in the two systems. I see claims that it's word for word, and it may be. Presumably it's xerox-like copies.
