Please try again later. Verified Purchase. For the price, the converter is a good deal. I converted 40 year old slides and was satisfied with outcome. The slides need to be positioned properly or part of the slide frame will be shown.
No problem though as the picture can easily be cropped as needed. Upon receiving the converter I could not get the software to properly install. I contacted customer service. After one week with no response I contacted Amazon to return it as defective. Within 24 hours I was contacted by converter customer service who promptly sent a second converter that worked as advertised. I did not need to return the first converter. So a bit of a hassle but bottom line I was satisfied.
Don't waste your money. The scanner did not come with its software installation disk or the USB connector necessary to connect it to the computer as shown in the picture provided by the seller. Using downloaded semi-usable software and my camera's USB cable, the computer recognizes the scanner but it will not scan and locks up the program every time. It is not the software's fault as it recognizes the scanner built into my printer. One person found this helpful.
This item, though inexpensive, is not worth even the cost to ship it. The output resolution of slides is the worst I've seen - grainy, blurry, and full of chromatic aberrations.
I used pristine crystal clear slides taken with a professionalquality 35mm camera, digital prism 3in1 photo converter software download. Also tried scanning a 5x7 photo and I couldn't believe how awful the result! Not only was the resolution poor, but it scans the frame as well. I'm in the process of returning the item. As an aside, the retailer delivered promptly and with adequately protective packaging.

Not only did the product work great, but the price was great and the prompt delivery of this item came lickity split!! I ordered it last Saturday and it was to my front door by Thursday. U cannot beat that!!! Gotta give big kudos to Ocean Reef Electronics!!! I will definitely purchase from them again!!! This is a truly great product.
It's easy to use but the pegs don't match up with my camera's alignment. My computer is a little slow on the upload; otherwise, the operation was smooth and effortless. I was able to digitize my photos as well as negatives which means nothing was left out of my visual library archives.
